The kids are heading back to school, the temperature is dropping, the days are getting shorter… but that doesn’t mean that the fun has to end!
Major events in and near the South Loop during September, October and November include the Chicago Jazz Festival, the Windy City Wine Festival, the Chicago Marathon and the Christmas tree lighting in Millennium Park. Some of summer’s recurring activities and events like SummerDance, Jazzin’ at the Shedd, and the farmers markets continue into September and October as well. Fall is also the season when many performing arts organizations ramp up again and the Chicago Park District offers a wide range of new programs. And of course we should all take advantage of local outdoor activities (e.g., serious running events, Charity Walks and Fun Runs) while the weather is still nice!
